Spring Awakenings; Spring into the Season with Mrs T

We are nearly there my beauties. We can finally start saying goodbye to the cold winter and start embracing what spring has to offer. Spring is such a beautiful time of year as brings new life, more sunshine and a chance to ‘spring clean’ everything around you. I love spring for the opportunity to freshen everything up and my makeup is no exception.

Beauty Mum; Mother’s Day Gift Guide

I love you Mum Mother’s Day is very near here in the UK and it is the opportunity to show our appreciation to our wonderful Mums. Being a Mother myself I can now appreciate how hard the job can be at times. My own Mum certainly deserves a lot of love for putting up with…

Happy Blogiversary; What I Have Learnt in One Year of Blogging.

It’s been a long road
I never felt like this moment was never going to happen; I made the vow to get through one year of blogging. It has not been an easy journey and there have been many times when I have wanted to stop but I am so glad that I finally got to this Milestone of my blog being one year old. If I was to give advice to any new blogger it would definitely be to set yourself the challenge to blog for a whole year as I feel you get a complete picture on whether it’s right for you.

Letter to my 18-year-old self

Being a teacher I witness younger people sometimes make a mistake that could have been avoided if they had listened to the wise words of experience. I do not profess to know everything or indeed be the wise sage that you see in many movies but I do have experience; I have made mistakes in my thirty-seven year and some of them I could have systematically avoided if I had listened to my elders.
This got me to thinking, what advice would I give myself at eighteen years old? I have decided to write this in the hope that it will bring guidance and help to others; I hope to show this to my children and hope that thy trust that my advice comes from learning from my mistakes and regrets I have.

My Relationship with Food

January is a month we associate with fresh starts, resolutions and changes in our life and often many people decide that this year they want to lose weight. The diet and fitness industry is worth billions and often capitalises on all those people who have had one too many mince pies over the Christmas period and feel the pinch of their trousers and shirts after the festive period is packed up for another year

Why the Tarte Shape Tape foundation has ruffled so many feathers

As we all know, with any community of people there is bound to be a difference of opinion and sometimes conflict; the term ‘drama’ replacing this concept in our age of social media and YouTube. In a community where everyone is different but all the same in that they are human beings, shouldn’t brands cater…

The Blogger Recognition Award

I have been somewhat of a forgetful blogger; having a full time job and a family has often hindered my ability to be a super responsive blogger. I have been nominated for various awards from other bloggers, which is a massive honour and has made me smile, but for one reason or another I have forgotten to get my backside into gear and get the posts written, also I write posts a month in advance making a quick response harder. I am truly thankful for the recognition from other bloggers as I know how hard bloggers have to work, so I feel like I need to add an apology with this. I am tardy in responding to this nomination from the lovely Jecca at Marble Crow Curiosities.

New Year, New Beginings

Another year older and wiser
As 2018 steps into my life I turned another year older on 3rd January. I have now come to accept growing older as an inevitability and something that really has clarified things for me and my mind. As I said in a previous post I prefer Christmas and celebrating that over celebrating my birthday and as my husband says ‘it’s just another day’.

2017: A Year In Review

The Year Life with Mrs T began
In March of this year, my blog began. Originally when I decided that it would be fun to do some blogging I was using Blogger and my Blog was called Mrs T’s Makeup Bag. I started on 5th March this year with a post called ‘Shop My Stash’ and the rest, they say, is history. I have learnt so much since I started my blogging journey, both about blogging and about myself as a person.

Christmas Themed Make up Looks

Christmas, as you might know, is my favourite time of the year. This love also extends into my makeup looks, I really enjoy creating Christmas themed makeup looks from smoky eyes to full-on glitter eyes, I feel Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year to experiment with my eyeshadow looks; here are some of my favourite Christmas inspired looks, which one do you like best?

Planning To Avoid Stress; Christmas Edition

Christmas can be stressful

I feel like that heading is a bit of an understatement, Christmas can be one of the most stressful times of the year and a nightmare to keep track of. It is supposed to be ‘the season of goodwill’, a time that we spend with the people we love, our family and friends; spending precious time together and showing our love. Instead, we spend the majority of Christmas queueing, getting annoyed with all the presents you have to get/wrap and running around like a headless chicken trying to make sure the house is well stocked with food because we need tons of food at Christmas

Copycats; Is It Makeup Plagiarism?

I have just seen a post on Facebook talking about the release of the new W7 ‘Blazin’ palette which looks extremely similar in shade range to the Urban Decay ‘Naked Heat’ palette, almost identical in fact. The thread exploded with two different camps of makeup addict; those that were delighted and those that were disgruntled. …
