Whether it is a work event, a gathering with friends or a family get together, Christmas and New Year is the time to party on down with the people you love (or at least tolerate once a year because there is free food and drink). The age old question that springs to peoples minds when preparing for a big function is usually ‘what do I wear?’ However, for the makeup addict such as myself the first question that springs to mind is ‘what makeup look am I going to rock?’
Christmas, as you might know, is my favourite time of the year. This love also extends into my makeup looks, I really enjoy creating Christmas themed makeup looks from smoky eyes to full-on glitter eyes, I feel Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year to experiment with my eyeshadow looks; here are some of my favourite Christmas inspired looks, which one do you like best?
I feel like my lipstick addiction goes into overdrive as soon as autumn begins. I usually enjoy eyeshadow in the spring and summer and tend to go light on the lippy but as soon as the weather turns and September comes I am all for a bold lip.
Autumn is a season that many people adore, myself included, it combines so many beautiful things, all in one season. As the days grow shorter and the leaves on the trees start to turn; people get excited for the cosiness that Autumn brings with the rich colours, warm clothing, and comforting food.
My name is Mrs T and I have an addiction to confess of which I have been trying to detox from for the past few months. I have been, for the past two years, addicted to shopping on Beauty Bay.
Brows are a part of the makeup world that divides opinion; they are such a personal preference and someone’s idea of the perfect brow would strike fear into others.
I remember about a year ago when I was first starting to take makeup really seriously, I was doing a live on a Facebook group doing a typical blended out gradient effect green eye that has become a bit of a signature look for me; when someone on the chat said ‘make it editorial’, I was like what in the blazes are you going on about?
As it is the first Monday of the month, it is time for my Monthly Makeup Monday; last months edition was from ‘Pulp Fiction’, this month I took inspiration from the film musical ‘Funny Girl’
Until about a year ago I did not have a clue what a cut crease was let alone being able to do one. Being the eyeshadow addict that I am as soon as I saw people on Facebook groups trying to do them I knew I had to jump in and have a go.
I never hired a makeup artist to do my wedding makeup, partly due to being on a budget, but mainly because I wanted to do my own makeup.
If anyone has seen the cult favourite ‘Pulp Fiction’ then you will be familiar with the song above and the iconic scene in the movie where Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega (Uma Thurman and John Travolta) compete in the Jack Rabbit Slims twist contest. Since deciding to do this look I have had that song in my head all week.
It sounds a bit ridiculous for a beauty addict to limit themselves to just 6 products but that is exactly what I did for a makeup look.
