It has been a while since I did a makeup tutorial. I thought I would take the opportunity to do my face and video the process at the same time. When I planned a summer makeup look I wanted to move away from the bolder and mermaid inspired tutorials.
I took the inspiration for this look from the book Arabian nights. Thinking of what an elegant and sophisticated lady would have for summer makeup in Middle Eastern countries and chose a gold and purple look.
I hope that this tutorial helps and inspires you. If you recreate any of my looks I would love to hear about and see them in the comments.

Step by step tutorial
Brows
Brows – collection eye defines in brown. Brush through with a spoolie
Carve brows – Nyx wonder pencil. Blend with finger or using a concealer brush.
Eyes
Prime eyes – Nyx dark circle concealer using a flat brush
All eyeshadows used are from the Morphe 35b palette
Set primer – cream shade using a large eyeshadow brush.
Transition – pastel purple using an eyeshadow blending brush. I used windscreen wiper motions and swirl the brush to blend the shadow.
Crease – Bright pink using eyeshadow blending brush. I used a clean blending brush to buff out the edges and apply some more of the pastel purple transition.
Outer V – Bright purple applied using a small crease brush. I focused on laying the colour in the corner. Going back over the crease with the brush I used for the pink crease. I added more pink to merge the colours.
Deepen the outer V – I used a pencil brush and added a small amount of black in the outer V nearest the lash line. I then went over the black with the crease brush and then applied some more of the purple and blended it out more.
Lid – I firstly added the shimmery gold over the majority of the lid. I did this with a clean finger but you can use a brush if you prefer. Then I added the matte sunflower yellow on the second half of the lid to act as a transition between the purple and the yellow. I did this with a clean finger.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner – I did a winged liner using the Primark Aqualine eyeliner. This was on the verge of running out so I also used the Olivia hale eyeliner but applied it with the Aqualine tip. I dislike the nib of the Olivia Hale one, I still want to use it.
I then used the Collection eye define in black to line my waterline and the outer corner of the lower lash line.
Primer – I had already primed my face with the Face Theory Primer.
Foundation – Gosh CC cream in the sand, applied with a damp beauty sponge.
Base
Concealer- The Barry M all night long concealer under the eyes and to highlight the centre of the face.
Powder – Freedom HD setting powder
Bronzer – Revolution makeup Renaissance glow bronzer.
Blush – PS Love Blush in Adore
Highlight – Anastacia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerieo palette Forever Lit
Lower lash line – Bright pink under the lash line using small crease brush and then apply gold eyeliner in the waterline.
Finishing Touches
Mascara – MUA
Line the lips – Essence Lip liner In Girl Next Door
Apply lipstick – Revolution renaissance lipstick in Awaken.
Apply setting spray – Makeup Obsession
