Lime Crime Liquid Lipstick Haul

Have you ever said to yourself ‘I have bought enough makeup for now, I will give it a break for a bit’ and then half an hour later discover that something you have been looking at for what seems like forever is on sale? Well I had been purchasng too many Makeup Revolution Renaissance lipsticks and I had vowed to take a break. That is until Lime Crime announced they were selling a load of their liquid lipsticks. Sales are just not good for me, as I explain in my sale post.

Lime Crime are a makeup brand that really capitalised on the whole ‘we love unicorns’ business long before Too Faced claimed they had (Throwing Shade at Shady Business). I had always lusted after the wild colours and beautiful packaging of Lime Crime liquid lippies. The company itself have been a bit on a controversial one; with hackers getting details of customers, formulation of products, whether or not they are cruelty free and vegan and the actions of its founder Doe Deere. What I find refreshing is that the company itself has address these ‘controversies’ on their own website, I really did not expect that.

So, on with the haul. I was not going to go mad when I saw they were on sale. I put my ‘sensible’ shopping head on and thought ‘What will I actually wear regularly?’ and these are the four that I have chosen; Wisteria, Moonstone, Mercury and Posh. Two of them are shades I have been after a while (Wishteria and Moonstone) and Mercury stood out for its gorgeous colour and Posh looked like something a little different for me.

The formula is a little drying but they have great staying power, I think they are even better than my Jeffree Star ones but not quite as good as my Beauty Bakerie ones but they were a lot cheaper so it does not really matter. I wore Wisteria on Monday with purple eyeshadow in the crease and a shimmery silver lid colour. I then wore Mercury on Tuesday and honestly I am in love with it. I paired it with a pink crease with a shimmery pale silver lid and lots of highlighter and BOOM!!! I felt so gorgeous and shiny I was singing the song the crab sings in the Disney film ‘Moana’ (I wanna be shiney)

I tried out Moonstone as i went out shopping, it is such a gorgeous lilac I love it. I gave Posh a try on friday and it is beautiful.  I feel like Posh  is going to be perfect for the Autumn months, I think it will be perfect for October when all the deeper shades come out.

The good thing also about ordering from Lime Crime is that they automatically add the custom charges onto the shipping rate so you do not end up with that dreaded card from the Post Office saying that you owe them tax and they have kindly wacked on an 8 handling fee just to make your day.

I will be the first on to admit that I have just a tiny bit of a lipstick problem; just go over to my 50 Shades of lipstick post to see. However, these colours are so lovely that I think I will be pulling them out of my makeup bag time and time again, especially in the summer. Ciao for now makeup fans xx
