Urban Decay Born to Run; One Palette, Five Looks

Born to Run

After I made a vow not to buy any more eye shadow palettes I tried extremely hard. I resisted many bargain drugstore releases like the Revolution Chocolate Orange palette and the Revolution Tammi X palette. The amount of pride that I found in saying ‘I haven’t bought an eye shadow palette for four months’ was astounding.

As you can tell by the title, my streak did not last long. When I was creating my Autumn Eyeshadow Palettes post I had more than enough palettes to show off. However, I felt unfulfilled. My makeup felt stagnant and lacking inspiration. I wondered whether purchasing a new palette would revive my autumn makeup collection and my love for makeup.

The Born to Run palette caught my eye quickly and it was hard to resist. Hailed as the ultimate travel palette with shades for every occasion and a multitude of possibilities. I almost clicked purchase without looking at reviews.

Remember to be a ‘smart shopper’

My ‘smart shopping’ ethic started reminding me of the dangers of frivolous spending. I did not want to have another palette that lives in my makeup graveyard, unloved and untouched. I started to look for reviews on YouTube which were all positive. Also, I reached out to my makeup friends and asked their opinions. The friends that had the palette already raved about it enthusiastically. I was sold.

After purchasing and receiving this beautiful palette from Urban Decay, I set to work. Wanting to test the versatility of the palette I set about trying to create five different looks to share with you. Once I did my fifth one, I realised that I could have created many more. Some of the shades I had yet to touch. This shows just how much you can get out of the palette. It might be expensive at £40, but trust me, it is worth it.

The quality and pigmentation of the shades are fabulous and the whole design of the packaging is stunning. I will definitely add this to my travel makeup bag the next time I go away on holiday as I know I will have every aspect covered with this palette.

I would love to hear your opinions on these looks and the palette as well. What shades catch your eye? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
