When it comes to summer lipsticks, opinions can be divided. Do you go nude and natural or do you inject some pops of colour? Do you go lipstick or gloss? Many people just dab on some lip balm and forego the lipstick step of their makeup. As the temperatures rise, so does our dislike for…
How I discovered Be Barefaced? I was on the hunt for a facial oil and discovered Be Barefaced. I was talking to a friend who is addicted to skin care on a women’s Facebook group and she quickly recommended Be Barefaced. She told me I could buy their products on Amazon. Being an Amazon prime…
Anyone you knows me knows how addicted to eyeliner I am; I love the stuff and cannot exist without my trusty wing as my homage to eyeliner, to wing or not to wing, demonstrated.
What is the style pro?
Before the Stylpro, washing your makeup brushes meant getting your hands full of soapy water and rubbing your brushes on some sort of silicone mat that looks like a strange massage device. Cleaning your makeup brushes regularly is a vital and important step which avoids bacteria build-up, possible infection or contamination of your make-up products.
Spring is officially upon us and we can kiss goodbye to those dark, depressing, cold days. I am grateful for the upcoming Spring as a chance to nurture my positive side and focus on the things that make me happy.
First Impressions can be misleading
I am wary of a first impression of a product as it is not a real test on how good or bad a product is. Have you ever met someone and thought ‘this person is lovely’ only to find out down the line that they are the devil incarnate. Likewise I have met people that I did not warm to at first who are now firm friends. The same thing can be applied to your first impressions of a product. Whenever I do a haul or project pan, I am conscious that I am fallible to changing my mind about makeup after using it for a while. I even have a product on my disappointing products list that I would repurchase. I based my post on my first impressions and using the product up made me realise how good it was, I am a walking contradiction.
If you are a collector of things you will understand the urge that sometimes creeps in to declutter your collection. Anyone who collects things will understand the feeling of it taking over their life. You have bought as much storage as you can and still have things overflowing, it is a necessary evil with any collector. You will get to a point where you say ‘enough is enough’ and make the decision to declutter your collection’.
Since the new year, I have made it a goal to tackle my makeup collection and pass on the unloved pieces in my collection
Why do a collective haul?
The simple reason for this is for productivity reasons. At my current rate of two posts a week I have realised that I do not have the space for as many hauls. The frequency of haul posts is alerting me to the fact that I have a slight shopping obsession.
Who are Oh My Glitter?
I discovered indie makeup brand Oh My Glitter through the various Facebook makeup groups. Oh My Glitter is run by the lovely Robyn and I saw her makeup being recommended by lots of people, with many of my friends being loyal customers of hers. She is well known for her mystery packages and I snapped one up in September and was blown away by the attention to detail, care and love that had gone into the mystery box, it was an absolute treat to open it and I felt spoilt.
I have been a lucky girl this year; I feel well and truly spoiled and privileged to be able to have what I want. Since as my birthday is unbelievably near Christmas (3rd January), I usually get a lot of things combined together. I don’t bother as much with my birthday as much as I do with Christmas, as Mr T would say ‘It’s just another day’
