What Am I Wanting This Spring?
As the title suggests, these are the products I am lusting over this spring. These items are mainly items of clothing as I feel like I have enough makeup at the moment to work through. I’ve never been into fashion as much as I have been into make-up and beauty but as I am blogging and looking at other people’s amazing blogs I have become more interested in styling myself.
*Please note that the images are taken from YoursClothing, Illamasqua and Juvias Place so you can visualise what I want.
Palazzo trousers are the most amazing garment ever, mainly because I feel comfortable in them and comfort is one of my main priorities. Due to my legs being top heavy I do not like to emphasise them with tapered trousers although I am learning to embrace my body and branch out to things like jeggings and harem trousers. I love palazzo trousers because they are perfect for the warmer weather and they can be worn both casually and as a night-time look.
These trousers are from Yours Clothing; I love the three lined pattern which I thought was unusual and different to my usual plain black choice. I would pair these with a colourful vest top or plain T-shirt and maybe a long cardigan to cover my arms.
Along with comfortable trousers, I love to drape myself in a comfortable, baggy top. These type of long tops go perfectly with jeggings or skinny jeans. I prefer to wear jeggings rather than skinny jeans. As a plus sized lady with larger legs the idea of skinny or straight leg jeans makes me feel uncomfortable just thinking about them.
The star pattern is fabulous, I have a star tattoo and love anything that has this type of design. I also love the colour green, it is my favourite and I feel that this green is a great transition colour that you can wear from autumn to spring and still make it work. The V neck style is more flattering for my body shape and will cover everything without looking too much like a tent.
Striped tops are often essential in a woman’s wardrobe; I am always seeing my favourite YouTube vloggers sporting a striped top. I recently bought a traditional black and white T-Shirt from Primark and was disappointed because it made me feel rather larger. I desperately searched for ways to wear my striped top and have discovered you need to layer other items on top to break the pattern up, like a cardigan and a large statement necklace.
When looking for new clothes I discovered this top from Yours Clothing that uses stripes in a more flattering way. The diagonal stripe creates an illusion of a slimmer shape and the gathering at the bust also draws attention towards the centre of the body.
This dress is a must-have item and I am so tempted by it. I have quite a few black and white dresses and they are a staple in my wardrobe. Monochromatic designs make me feel classy and sophisticated and it reminds me of 1960s beatniks. I love them because I can throw on some leggings and a cardigan and I feel smart and ‘put together’. I love how these type of dresses are smart but casual and comfortable at the same time. I like this dress because it has a flattering shape with the V neck and the tie around the waist.
Jeans are always a classic staple in everyone’s wardrobe but often I find them uncomfortable and heavy. Jeggings gives you the best of both worlds; slightly heavier than leggings and not as heavy as jeans. I like jeggings because they cover everything up and can be paired with a long top or dress and look smart. I need a cropped pair of jeggings so I can wear them with sandals for the summer months.
A new coat
This is a necessity on account of my current coats being heavy winter coats. I have been very tempted but the yellow rain Mac’s that I have been seeing around. However, I am not sure about such a bold colour. I would prefer to have something a darker colour and add brighter accessories. I am not sure if I would resemble a big yellow tent but maybe that is my insecurity talking.
Another option for a new coat is a trench coat. I love a good trench coat as they complement my shape and the style is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. The only problem is with a cream coloured trench coat is that it can be stained so easily and having two young children, that does not go well. I would much rather prefer a green or a black coloured one as that makes me feel the most comfortable, not summer friendly but I like it that way.
- Within a matter of days of writing this I found a black trench coat in Primark; As you can see from the picture above I am not very good at doing fashion shoots.
Illamasqua skin base
I have so many different foundations at I need to use up before I can possibly justify buying this until they are used up. I have never owned an expensive foundation but after trying the Illamasqua satin primer I have become a convert. I have heard good things about the skin base foundation and their shade range is perfect for someone as pale as me. Also, Illamasqua is a cruelty-free brand which fits into my choice to only buy from cruelty-free brands.
Illamasqua Hydra Veil
This is another wish list product that I will not be purchasing for a while as I already have the Satin Primer and I have another one on its way to test so watch out for a skincare haul in the near future. I have again heard fabulous things about the Hydra Veil primer and if it is anything like the Satin one I will be happy indeed. I also have a £5 voucher on my Illamasqua due to the difficulty I had with my last order and the lack of communication so I will be giving them one last try before I go elsewhere for their products.
Juvia’s place mini masquerade palette
After I raved so much about the Zulu palette in a recent review post, the Masquerade palette looks more tempting thanever. I am hoping to eventually buy this to see if the Juvia’s place eyeshadow formula is consistent across theirpalettes as I have heard mixed reviews. I am drawn to the Masquerade palette due to the abundance of colour; I feel like you could create so many different looks with this palette, from neutral, smoky right through to bright glam.
I would only purchase the mini palette as I have so many eyeshadows already and know how difficult it is to pan an eyeshadow that I do not feel I would need the larger one.
Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day setting spray in peach
I am aware I have talked about this in my Ride or Die products post and my Empties post but I currently do not have the peach scent and it makes my heart sad. I have a tiny bit of the lavender scent left and after I have finished that I have the coconut one to try but nothing beats the smell of peaches, except mandarin but they do not do a mandarin one. I will be making sure I purchase quite a few of the peach ones when there is an offer on beauty bay, the spray lasts me roughly three months so a little goes a long way and it makes me feel fabulous when I spray it.
Lime, Basil and Mandarin perfume
I have put this on my wishlist and am desperate to find another dupe of the Lime, Basil and Mandarin perfume as I adore it but can’t afford Jo Malone prices. After buying the basil and Mandarin perfume from Primark and falling in love with it I want another bottle and Primark have stopped stocking it. I did find a dupe from Superdrug but that has disappeared as well. I also tried Aldi but could only get the candles and the room spray. I currently am worried about my bottle running out and never getting it again.
What items are you lusting over; let me know what items are on your current wishlist in the comments?
